Dominik Benz: A Data Mesh Primer: Why federation & self-service infrastructure matters
Data Mesh as analytical Data Architecture is receiving a lot of attention these days. As a basis for the two main talks, we will briefly summarize the key aspects of the Data mesh paradigm. We will close by outlining why Data Federation and Self-service Data Infrastructure are two key components based on our project experience.

Sönke Liebau: Data Mesh Infrastructure as a Service with Stackable
Cloud-native concepts and technologies such as containerization and Kubernetes enable companies to orchestrate modern data platforms with open source software. This architecture especially lends itself to implementing self-service data infrastructure in a decentralized data mesh. In this talk we’ll show how the Stackable Data Platform can support this approach.

Dr. Dominik Benz has been supporting companies implementing data platforms and architectures for many years. As inovex‘ head of data engineering he combines technological and organizational aspects with his knowledge of analytic approaches.
Andy Mott is the EMEA Head of Partner Solutions Architecture and Data Mesh Lead at Starburst. Andy is supporting the rapid growth of technology partners across Europe and the Middle East, working with the Regional SI’s, Global SI’s, the Hyperscalers, Platform Partners and Technology Partners. With over 20 years in analytics and data-focused roles, Andy’s specific focus is considering how an organisation’s use of analytics, analytical culture and analytical processes can be optimised through technologies such as self-service data tools, cloud, and streaming analytics.
Sönke Liebau is CPO and co-founder of Stackable. He has been working in the field of Big Data for several years, supporting customers in designing and implementing their individual data platforms. Furthermore, he is an active contributor to several open source projects. His extensive experience in implementing and maintaining big data infrastructures grants him deep insights into the needs and conditions a big data architecture has to meet. As the CPO of Stackable it is his duty to use this experience to develop the Stackable Data Platform to meet all its customers‘ expectations.
Stefan Igel looks back at 25 years of tech projects, in which he aided many companies introducing data platforms for business intelligence and analytics. 11 of those years he has been focused on big data projects. At Stackable, Stefan is responsible for operative and strategic business development.
