inovex employs people from the most widely diverse backgrounds – people of different nationalities, age groups, qualifications, gender identities, etc. We love diversity and we all work hard to make everyone feel welcome here.
At inovex, we attach great importance to collaboration not only on a professional level, but also on a human level. To ensure this, we adhere to the following principles:
- We strive to be friendly people – appreciative, considerate, and patient.
- We value people for their abilities and personalities, not because of their backgrounds.
- We promote the free exchange of different opinions and perspectives because these discussions broaden our horizons.
- We take care not to hurt or exclude anyone with our choice of words and gestures.
Communication is of great importance at inovex. We believe that open communication enables conflicts and misunderstandings to be resolved more quickly. Team leads and representatives are always available to act as mediators or to provide appropriate advice.
Our diversity team is constantly discussing new ways to raise awareness of diversity – for example, by holding regular brownbag meetings on social issues which extend beyond our everyday life at work. These meetings often spark constructive discussions for large groups.
Continuous exchange enables us to regularly take a fresh look at issues which enhance cooperation. These include such topics as gender-appropriate language, non-violent communication, and the promotion of women in IT.
At inovex, self-critical questioning is part of healthy business development. We aim to build a diverse circle of colleagues, one which benefits from our heterogeneous biographies, opinions, and ideas, rather than forcing our employees into a particular mould. As our workforce currently includes a higher proportion of men than women, we still have some way to go. But we are on the right track, and we are working hard to become more diverse. One example is our active promotion of young women in STEM careers through our involvement in the Science & Technology Initiative and Girls’ Day.
We would also like to encourage everyone to apply to inovex. We welcome industry newcomers and long-term professionals alike – as well as applicants who have recently taken a break from work. We are aware that there can be gaps in CVs which can cause people to believe that they are “no longer good enough” after taking a break for parental leave, to take care of dependent family members, or due to personal illness, sabbaticals, and the like. Such gaps are no reason for us to reject an application. If an applicant’s industry skills and/or qualifications are a good fit and they are enthusiastic about learning more about the subject, there is always an opportunity for them to (re)acquire the requisite knowledge on the job with their colleagues’ help.
And to ensure that their (re-)entry goes well, all new employees are assigned a mentor for their first few weeks: someone who is always ready to answer questions and to help them quickly find their feet at inovex. Our flexible working hours and the opportunity to work from home also help employees to balance their work and home lives effectively.
