Conversational AI
Chatbots such as OpenAI’s ChatGPT or comparable open-source models demonstrate impressively how natural language processing systems can be used to make even complex information available in a readily comprehensible way.
These and other innovative generative AI systems are making digitalisation accessible to everyone. In addition to chatbots, which enable otherwise complex processes to be performed intuitively, voice assistants can also be used to bring simple FAQ dialogues to life.
They also enable targeted semantic searches to be performed on large volumes of documents, a task which previously required users to enter extremely precise, almost verbatim queries.
As more and more user (both internal and external) interactions with companies are now taking place digitally, the needs of an increasing number of target groups must be taken into account. Communication is no longer exclusively interpersonal; instead, computers are increasingly taking the place of human interlocutors. Voice interfaces simplify this communication, offering a useful complement to traditional input methods such as keyboards, mice, and touchscreens.
In addition to greater convenience for users, these voice interfaces also furnish benefits for companies. Conversational artificial intelligence opens up new opportunities for firms to connect with their target audiences or to improve existing systems.
Particularly in situations which allow little face-to-face conversation, voice interfaces can serve as important platforms for communicating with customers. Prompt engineering can be used here to optimise the instructions given to language models and to add relevant information to facilitate the generation of helpful responses. This creates scenarios which more closely resemble typical conversations with other people than interactions with machines, and which do so using the conversational medium most innate to humans: natural language.
Application Scenarios
For a long time, voice-input-controlled or text-input-controlled operations were incapable of achieving typical standards of human interaction. Now, however, the use of artificial intelligence – and of generative AI in particular – is giving rise to a large number of new applications which we at inovex can (and do) integrate into customer systems. These include:
- Chatbots which provide intuitive ways for even inexperienced service personnel to perform complex tasks
- Voice skills for Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa to allow access to customer portals
- Voice assistants which perform FAQ dialogues in apps and web applications
- Chatbots which use intelligent semantic search functions to scan thousands of documents to find answers to users’ questions
- Voice functions to extend the scope of smart devices
- Improvements to IVRSs (Interactive Voice Response Systems) for use in call centres
- Industrial devices which can be controlled by simple voice commands
Our Services
Our extensive technical expertise enables us to solve the most diverse challenges posed by conversational artificial intelligence for our clients.
Artificial Intelligence is Our Strength
At inovex, academic research is an important part of our everyday work. As a result, we possess a wealth of experience which helps us to develop optimal solutions for our customers and to customise them to their specifications.
To this end, we draw on our interdisciplinary technology expertise in generative AI, prompt engineering, natural language processing, and computer vision.
Prompt engineering
Prompt engineering is used to control generative AI to produce effective, targeted results. inovex’s prompt engineers develop specific AI solutions for individual business cases. In conversational AI, prompt engineering is used to enhance users’ input prompts and add appropriate context to assist the AI models.
Comprehensive approach
We offer our customers a comprehensive range of services pertaining to written and spoken language – from infrastructure to devices and the operation of conversational AI. We already have project experience working with providers of language models such as OpenAI, Azure, Aleph Alpha, and Huggingface, as well as with voice solutions from major players such as Apple, Google, etc.
We develop customised solutions for our customers which take into account their specific functional and data protection requirements. This results in sustainable solutions which enable them to control all the components used.
Smart Devices
We develop technology which understands people, whether this involves using devices already equipped with audio or video interfaces or adding them after the fact. We can also easily combine devices with visual input interfaces. We create technology solutions based on and optimally tailored to our customers’ technical environments.
